Overtime pay rules expand eligibility under new Labor Dept rule
The Department of Labor issued rules raising the overtime threshold from 23660 to 47476. About 85000 Missouri and 40000 Kansas workers could be affected. Effective December 1 2016 the change will require hours tracking and may trigger employers to adjust hours or salaries. Analysts warn ripple effects could prompt base pay adjustments to stay above the threshold.
