Two Axis deer join the Wild Asia goral yard from the Topeka Zoo, a baby Bactrian camel is thriving after a late start, and a Dromedary is euthanized due to age related issues. Saudis hit by al Qaida attacks trigger security clampdown
Bombings at three Riyadh residential compounds left 34 dead including eight Americans and spurred urgent security actions across the capital. U S officials warned of possible future attacks and urged vigilance in Jeddah while Saudi guards checked vehicles and tightened controls. The strikes, tied to Osama bin Laden's al Qaida network, targeted foreign workers in the National Guard and Defense Ministry compounds, prompting broader warnings to expatriates.
