Kansas House fails to override veto on late term abortion bill
The Kansas House fell two votes short of overturning Gov. Parkinson's veto on a measure to tighten late term abortion rules. The bill would have required details on abortions after 21 weeks, allowed suits for violations, and aimed to deter doctors from practicing in Kansas after Dr. George Tiller's murder. Republican efforts to reconsider faced procedural battles as Senate approval remained uncertain.
