Revenues miss April estimate in Kansas shortfall update
Kansas April revenue collections fell short of forecasts by 65.3 million dollars, with individual income taxes down about 74.7 million. The Department of Revenue reported 575.8 million versus a 641.1 million forecast as unemployment stood at 6.9 percent in March. Governor Parkinson said the miss is disappointing but manageable, even as the Legislature backs a 434 million tax package to cover 2011 shortfalls.
