Medicaid expansion could help Kansas hospitals at risk
In Kansas the debate over House Bill 2044 seeks to extend Medicaid to about 150000 residents, a move the Alliance for a Healthy Kansas says would aid 31 financially vulnerable hospitals and curb rural closures. Senate action followed by KHA testimony cites $1.7 billion in foregone federal funds since 2014 and potential rural hospital gains averaging $913,418 for 16 non critical access facilities.
