Community gardens prep plots as spring nears in Finney County
Finney County Master Gardeners prepare 52 freshly tilled 10 by 10 foot plots at 501 S Ninth St with a $20 per plot fee and a $10 refund after cleanup. The Extension office, aided by a $5,000 Kansas Community Gardens grant, provides tools, irrigation, and drip hoses. Sister Rosarita Weber notes another garden at East Schulman Ave with 116 plots selling for $10 each. Continuous reservations open now with expansion possible in 2017.
