Most chemical plants cluster in large metros says CRS
Washington AP reports the Congressional Research Service lists the 25 largest metropolitan areas by 1980 population and their 1982 chemical plant counts. New York area leads with 1,461 plants followed by Los Angeles 842 and Chicago 583, with Washington DC at 35 and Houston 274 among others.

Gov. John Carlin re appointed Albert D. Campbell to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board of Review for a term to March 1, 1989. Vaughn Flora was named to the Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility Approval Board for a two year term replacing Tom Giessel. Jeannie Chavez Martinez of Parsons, unaffiliated, joins the Advisory Committee on Mexican American Affairs, succeeding Marcella Leon Clay whose term ends June 30, 1986.
