Gordon R Farr of Lakin has enlisted in the Air Force and is in basic training at Lackland AFB after swearing in in Kansas City Missouri. Recruiters will be at the sheriff's office in the courthouse Mondays from 10 am to 3 pm. A Messiah rehearsal is planned for Sunday at 2 30 pm in the Little Theater with combined civic and school choirs. Merriam Wilson, a former Garden City juco student, appears on the March cover of The Kansas Teacher with peers from Emporia State College. she will teach in the Ulysses school system next fall.
