Finney County Budget Hearings Move Into July

Passengers join Amtrak derailment lawsuit over injury
Thirteen train riders filed a complaint in intervention in U S District Court in Wichita joining Amtrak and BNSF Railway in alleging gross negligence by Cimarron Crossing Feeders and others over the March 14 derailment near Cimarron that injured 28. Investigators say a Cimarron Crossing Feeders truck left in gear rolled downhill, struck tracks, causing the derailment. The suit cites NTSB findings and tire impressions linking the Kenworth truck to the incident.
