Indictment Filed Against Jonathan Valdez in Drug and Firearm Case
Jonathan Valdez, 25, of Garden City, was federally indicted on one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. The alleged offenses occurred March 16 in Finney County. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine on the drug charge, and at least five years and a $250,000 fine on the firearm charge. Prosecution is by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Jacobs. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
