Longtime Lakin electrician and community member Frank F Thomas died at 96 in Kearny County Hospital after a life spent in Lakin Kansas. He served in the U S Army during World War II and founded Frank Thomas Electric. Surviving sister Catherine Phillips of Lakin and a large circle of church and civic affiliates mourn his passing with services at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial with military rites at Lakin Cemetery follows a vigil and funeral mass. Memorials support the Frank Velma Thomas Scholarship Fund or Cal Farley Boys Ranch.

Vigil is tonight at Schmitt Funeral Home followed by funeral Thursday at Christ The King Catholic Church WaKeeney and burial at Christ The King Cemetery. Visitation 5 to 7 tonight. Memorials may go to Alex Bazan Memorial Fund for the children's college education.
