Simpson wins U S Open at Olympic Club in fog shrouded finish
Webb Simpson outlasted Jim Furyk and Graeme McDowell to win the U S Open with a 1 over 281 total. He carded a 2 under 68 on Sunday after a tricky final round, converting a tough par save at 18 to seal victory. Furyk bogeyed two of his last three and McDowell’s late 25‑foot birdie on 18 fell short as Michael Thompson tied for second.
