Martha Castro and her husband rushed to Oasis Car Wash as a storm hit Garden City, where a Mesquite tree toppled in their yard. Meteorologist Jennifer Bitterling reported wind gusts up to 62 mph at Garden City Airport and 59 mph at Holcomb, with unconfirmed gusts to 90 mph in Hamilton and Kearny counties and around 70 mph in Garden City. Damage included a shattered Garden City police cruiser back window, toppled semitrailers in Finney and Kearny counties, two grain bins blown down northeast of the city, and a damaged roof on See Weather, Page AS.
