Positive early outlook for this year's wheat harvest
Garden City area producers and agronomists express optimism about a strong wheat crop aided by favorable conditions. Ken Jameson of Garden City Co-op notes uncertain final yield until combines run, while John Holman of KSU Southwest Extension calls it one of the better crops in years. Rainfall timing and regional differences affect prospects, with Finney County behind last year in precipitation. See Harvest, Page A5.
