Tax credits debated in city revitalization plan
The city considers tax credits to spur rebuilding as property owners may receive reimbursements for improvements. Eligible categories include single family homes, multi family, historic, commercial, and industrial properties with various 7 and 10 year periods. The USD 457 School Board supported the plan amid concerns over tax revenue. A separate grant program offers up to 20000 per home for renovation in a defined district, with qualification surveys and income guidelines.
