Audrain wins 12-13 age division in Kansas Optimist golf
Audrain shot an even par 72 to win the 12 to 13 year old division at the Kansas District Optimist International Junior Golf Championship in Emporia. He beat Cooper Steiner of Wichita by six strokes and qualified for the Optimist Championship at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens Florida. Wyatt Burnett of Lakin shot 76 in the 16 to 18 year old division but did not place. The Optimist, begun in 1978, is a premier junior event with players from over 35 countries and all 50 states, attracting more than 5,000 participants annually.
