Church members will assume charge tomorrow morning in a discussion of the new edifice under construction and a two week fund raising campaign. Reports on progress will be given at the 10:45 a.m. service. H. W. Clutter of Holcomb heads the building committee.
Ulysses residents Wayne and Mrs Kauffman with children spent the weekend in Springfield Colorado visiting Kauffman’s parents. Denver guests and Liberal visitors joined family gatherings in Kansas with trips to Garden City, Liberal races, and réunions.

ACC scored eight points and qualified for ten finals positions as Morrow set a 9.4 second 100 yard dash and 20.8 second 220 yard dash, with a second meet record in the 100 and a possible 440 meter hurdles record by Bob Gerdeman.
Horace Ashenfelter set an American two mile mark of 8:49.6 in Compton. Wes Santee ran 4:01.2 in the Compton Invitational Mile, with Bob Seaman of UCLA and Fred Dwyer close behind at 4:01.4 and 4:01.9 as three Americans broke 4:02 in one race.
New York six colts aiming to tackle Nashua in the Belmont Stakes headline a field of eight 3 year olds in the $25 000 added Peter Pan at Belmont Park. The race is nationally televised by ABC from 2 15 to 2 30 p m CST. Past Peter Pan winners have later won Belmont and the title of 3 year old champion. Counterpoint and High Gun are notable former winners, with Counterpoint winning in 1951 and High Gun in 1954. Whitney and King Ranch entries include Little Dell and Retamer.
