Fires force evacuations near Canon City Colorado
Crews battled a 7000 acre wildfire 15 miles south of Canon City causing hundreds of residents to flee. Winds of 45 mph fed flames through trees and grass as breezes cooled, slowing overnight. Deputy and sheriff officials evacuated subdivisions south and west of Canon City while lighter winds and higher humidity offered limited relief.
