The Kansas Health Policy Authority reports that federal health reform will cut uninsured by about 190,000, add about 150 million dollars to state health spending by 2020, with Medicaid expansion paid by the federal government for the first three years and then gradually shared. About 87,000 more people will be eligible for Medicaid, and overall costs to taxpayers will shift from 2014 onward.
