Kansas father son duo battles Colorado wildfires
Kansas firefighters Jim and Rodney Redinger joined crews in Colorado amid the worst fire season since 2002. Rodney, a Kansas Forest Service division manager, helped with training and management while Jim worked in logistics for Burrton volunteers. They described extreme fire behavior, dry winter, bark beetle damage, and rapid fire growth across the numerous blazes near Lake George and Eleven-Mile Canyon.
