Garden City USD 457 board approves budget with mill levy hike
The Garden City USD 457 board adopts a 43.39 mill levy up from 43.13 to fund a district budget rise of over 600 thousand dollars, citing enrollment declines and reduced state education reimbursements. The plan includes cuts across Curriculum Assessment Health Services Counseling Transportation Technology and other areas to balance the 2004-05 proposed general fund. District staff stated reductions aim to offset a $485,000 drop from the prior year and preserve instructional funding at 100 percent for elementary through high school levels.
