Kansas arts funding cut leaves state short for NEA match
Kansas will miss about 800000 in NEA funds this year after a 250000 shortfall in state arts spending. The Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission reports 191000 allocated, risking lost federal matching and suspension from Mid-America Arts Alliance. The shortfall may prevent grants but does not curb artists from seeking national awards.
