Garden City softball coach Moquett resigns after two seasons
Trina Moquett, head coach of Garden City Community College softball for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 campaigns, resigns effective July 31. She cites family as a major reason while noting six players earned NJCAA academic awards and several earned college scholarships. Moquett led a 77-47 record, a Region VI runner-up finish, and a 43-win 2011 season, after four years as an assistant. She will attend USA Baseball Women’s National Team tryouts in Utah on July 28 ahead of the World Cup in Canada. Interim AD Ryan Ruda calls her an excellent coach and notes she will be missed.
