Blackie Remembered With Lone Dighton Grave Stone
In Dighton Kansas a parolee known as Blackie or Thomas Martin died in a 1922 bank robbery shootout with a posse. A monument was later placed on his unmarked grave by Ragel’s Monument Co. His tombstone notes he died in the line of duty after a failed robbery, with a community effort to mark his resting place and reflect on a violent night that left two other gang members captured or killed.
