Twain story to be published by Atlantic Monthly
Atlantic Monthly bought the rights to publish Mark Twain’s 1876 short story Murder, a Mystery and Marriage, rejected when first pitched. Patrick Martin, the negotiating lawyer, said the sale to Buffalo and Erie County Public Library was finalized after 25 years. The price remains undisclosed. the story will appear in the June 15 Atlantic Monthly issue.

GCCC Lands State Grant for Workforce Automation Training
Garden City Community College procured a 61915 Technology Equipment grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing to fund hands-on automation and sensor training for Southwest Kansas. The program targets beef packing, product fabrication, and packaging, with short seminars led by instructors Neff and Holmes and supported by local industry partners and suppliers. Local companies Stanton Wholesale Electric, Rockwell Automation, and IEP aided the grant through in-kind donations. ConAgra and others provided support letters. Equipment arrives soon and seminars begin late spring at the John Collins Annex.
