House that Vince Built reshaped K State football legacy
In the mid 1960s K State football was winless since 1954. Vince Gibson became defensive coordinator under Gibson’s tenure at Tennessee and later built Purple Pride at K State. A dramatic 1972 KU game featured a failed two point try that preserved a Wildcat win. Woodling recalls Gibson’s infectious energy and his impact beyond the 1974 era.
