Garden City USD 457 makes progress on water plan
USD 457 has 10 of 29 required water rights agreements to allow well water for irrigation at the new northeast Garden City high school. Superintendent Rick Atha said opening the old well costs about 100000 dollars but would save money over time. The district seeks signed quit claims from other property owners with water rights, while city approval is already unanimous. Meanwhile security upgrades include plastic keycards for access control at district buildings, with 35 doors at the new high school.
