Death of nine month old Brakey in Garden City
Grant Miller Brakey nine months old son of Mr and Mrs Robert Brakey of 906 North Sixth died today at St Catherine hospital. Born March 5 1955 he is survived by sister Linda and brother John Robert at home and grandparents Mrs Evelyn Blakey and Mr and Mrs Jack LaGesse all of Garden City. Funeral arrangements are incomplete Phillips Funeral home in charge.

NEW YORK Ham Fisher creator of the Joe Palooka strip was found dead in a friend's studio. Police reported two notes stating death by own action. Fisher 54 spoke of failing eyesight and diabetes in the notes. The body was found about 9 p.m. by Morris Weiss whose Englewood, New Jersey address Fisher’s wife Marilyn had contacted. His mother had received a call from him earlier that day. Death estimated around 5 p.m.

Death Ends Nation's Longest Wedded Life
Benjamin and Drusilla Hartley, once hailed as the nation’s longest married couple, saw their 80 year union end as Hartley died at 96. The pair, childhood sweethearts from Tennessee, married in 1891, began farming in Kansas, later moved to western Kansas and Idaho to live with their son Leo.
