Brownback accused of politicizing Kansas African American commission
Critics say Governor Brownback delayed a seven month vacancy on the Kansas African American Affairs Commission by blocking selected candidates, aiming to influence the board. They cite a push for a Republican wife of a state official as an example while the commission, created in 1997, seeks an executive director to improve outreach and grants awareness.
