Two unlocked cars were broken into in Garden City on Monday afternoon and night. From Keith Bramwell of El Dorado’s car, an electric guitar two suitcases and a leather jacket were stolen between 1 and 2 p.m. From Larry Willard Martin of 2118 B street, a briefcase with business papers was taken between 9:55 p.m. and 1:10 p.m. The suspected theft occurred while the cars were parked on E Fulton.
Three unknown youths took a tractor from Bernard J. McPherson in Holcomb for a late night joy ride. McPherson woke to a barking dog and chased the riders, who fled in a car. Sheriff’s office verified the tractor belonged to Barber Ready Built Homes in Garden City.

William Phillip Eversoll 92 of Ulysses died Monday in Darhart Texas. Born October 12, 1873 in Clay County he lived in Elkhart Kansas from 1907 to 1938. He married Della Landry September 30 1896 at Concordia. Surviving is the widow and a son.
Mrs Rose I Brock Ward announces the death of Rosa I Brock, 84, of New Albany Indiana, on Saturday in New Albany. She is the sister of Mrs Simpson Clark of 712 Elm and aunt of Andrew Clark of 403 Magnolia.
