Fat cattle receipts show 274 head with 1050 pound steers in greater supply and active demand. prices 24.50 to 25.50 for good to choice steers, heavier weights in demand. Heifers steady to barely steady. lighter weights down 25c week over week. Cows limited, mostly 12 to 14. Kansas City totals: cattle 1,500. steers 23.75 to 25.75. cows 13.75 to 15.00. feeder steers 22.00 to 23.50. Hogs 3,800. barrows and gilts up 25. sows up to 25. lambs 50 higher with slaughter lambs 25.50 to 26.00.

Oklahoma City University student Larry Shea will star as Sir Thomas More in the OCT Theater production A Man For All Seasons, December 7 to 11. Jack Curtis, son of Garden City graduates, plays the Duke of Norfolk. both actors are connected to Garden City schools and listed with local family addresses. Donna Scony Seoby daughter of Mr and Mrs George Seoby, Fort Collins, Colorado, has been named to the Outstanding Young Women of America edition. A radiation biology researcher at Colorado State University, she is a 1953 graduate of McPherson College with a master’s from Washington University. While teaching at Monticello College she earned two science awards from the National Science Foundation and the Atomic Energy Commission.
Members of the Artificial Breeders Assn. of Ness and Lane counties will hold their annual meeting in Dighton on December 7. A 7:30 p.m. business session will open at the ABA Building. Scott City report states that board members of the Scott County Agricultural Extension Council will hold a regular monthly business meeting Thursday. The session is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Broiler site.
Finney County residents will receive 1966 vehicle registration and personal property self assessment forms. To obtain 1966 license plates, applicants must complete all forms and show at least half of the 1965 personal property tax paid. Mail to County Treasurer, not the Kansas Motor Vehicle Department, with a 50 cent mailing fee. Registration must be in the applicant’s county of residence as of Jan 1, 1966.
Southwestern College's 50 piece concert band directed by Albert Hodges begins a week long tour Monday visiting 17 Kansas communities including Garden City. The program features marches and light numbers by Mozart Massenet Gershwin and Bernstein performed in high school auditoriums with times in Hugoton Rolla Johnson Deerfield and Garden City.
