Knife Victim Hurled Into Hospital in Satanta Fight
Oklahoma man Jack Polecat, 32, of Satillo, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon after a knife fight two miles east of Satanta on highway K-45 at about 2 am Sunday. Ryus Carbon Black plant worker James Eddie Brown, 20, was wounded with a 12 inch slash under the arm and several other cuts. Brown was taken to Satanta hospital where doctors treated him for about three hours. Polecat is in sheriff custody at Sublette. Brown's condition improved from grave to good as he recovered. Both men had been drinking but were not drunk.

City Grants Pay Raises For City Employees
City commission approved pay increases to take effect Sept 1 totaling $14,110 annually, a 5.56 percent rise. Sixty-nine employees receive higher wages next month while 12 are not yet affected.
