Proxima b declared Earthlike planet near Earth
Scientists announce Proxima b, a rocky world about 1.8 Earth masses orbiting Proxima Centauri 4.2 light-years away. Using HARPS and other telescopes, researchers confirm a planet in the star’s Habitable Zone with a 11.2 day orbit, raising hopes for possible liquid water and future study of life prospects.
