Garden City Fire Department and MDA kick off 60th Fill the Boot drive

Garden City Fire Department teams with the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the 60 year partnership. More than 20 firefighters will collect donations 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Fleming and Mary, Fulton and Main, and in front of Walmart. Funds support MDA programs, medical care, and a week long camp in Kansas. Seventy seven cents per dollar stays with MDA services.

Study finds no change needed at Southwind intersection

A Kansas study shows three crashes at the rural Southwind intersection in 2010 and 2013, with a crash rate of 3.51 per 10 million entering vehicles, below the rural statewide average and not prompting speed changes.
