County mulls sales tax question on November ballot
Finney County officials weigh whether to place a quarter cent sales tax renewal on the November 6 general election or the April 2013 local election. County Administrator Randy Partington says statutes hinder a quick decision and notes funds primarily support road maintenance and the Building and Road Maintenance Program. Garden City and Holcomb receive portions of about 1.0 million dollars annually, aiding streets and projects, while state and county shares also factor into the tax structure.
