Southwest Kansas Coalition Sets Highway Priority Four Lane USS 54 400 Corridor
Liberal, Garden City, and Dodge City leaders at a Wednesday meeting reaffirmed transportation goals with a focus on converting the Mullinville to Kingman stretch of USS Highway 54/400 into a four lane roadway. The move aims to bring the region closer to a statewide four lane system, even as funding methods remain uncertain. Coalition staff expect a 2010 legislative transportation plan, with no immediate bonds or taxes discussed, and emphasis on building state allies for transportation advocacy.
