Honor flight group raises funds for local veterans trip
Garden City organizers of Central Prairie Honor Flight plan a charter flight to Washington D C for World War II veterans. They have funded 834 vets on 10 prior trips from Great Bend, with 40 to 50 local veterans waiting and a goal of raising 80 000 to 100 000 dollars to fly more veterans. Rosemary Corbett helped mobilize support for her father Martin Huschka and others, hoping the trip will honor comrades and provide meaningful reflections.
