Finney County sets 2012 budget with tax rate cut
County commissioners approved a 2012 budget with a mill levy about one third of a mill lower than last year while total assessed valuation rose to about 486 million dollars. Despite higher valuation the panel cut spending, defunded the weather modification program, and restored funds to the soil conservation district after appeals. Extensions funding, sewer district budgets and a possible taxing district for K State Extension were discussed as part of the plan.
