Weather showers offer brief drought relief in Kansas
Scattered showers cooled southwest Kansas on Tuesday with highs near 94 and lows around 66. Rain gauges varied: Garden City Airport logged 0.18 inches from 1 to 7 am, while radar indicated up to one-third inch in spots. Jeff Elliott of KSU reported 1.06 inches at the Southwest Extension Center between midnight and 8 am. A cold front brought the moisture and a 15 degree temperature drop. readings differ due to hourly NWS versus daily KSU measurements. The moisture gives no drought end, but provides measurable relief in a region awaiting steadier rain.
