Tyson Foods posts third quarter loss amid price pressure
Tyson Foods reported a 52 million loss for the April to June quarter, down from a year earlier, as chicken and beef weakness trimmed revenue to 6.38 billion. Shares fell 3 percent to 14.16 on the NYSE. Management forecast only modest fourth quarter improvement, with plans to cut chicken production 5 percent and implement a 200 million cost savings drive while facing Avian flu worry and rising expenses.
