Mt Carroll wakes to a wholesale burglary spree as four businesses are hit. Losses may total up to a thousand dollars with valuables taken and thieves vanishing despite a night watch. Sipes dry goods, Jeanmariet jewelers, and Homedew saloonkeeper are among those robbed.
Louis Homrieh and John Pierce travel for business and social calls. Mrs Rogers and Mrs Grepner visit from nearby towns. Annunciation school opens for the fall term. City Council and auditors meet. A cement walk is laid on Dewey Ave. Numerous residents from East Dubuque Warren and Scales Mound state their movements in Galena today.
