Baptism by complete immersion in Mississippi river

In Mississippi at Eagle Point on a Wednesday afternoon, eight Dubuque Bible students were immersed in the Mississippi River by Mr. W. Drewelow. Three class members, two women and a man, received the ceremony in private water with a makeshift dressing area. The group, unaffiliated with any church, follows immersion as their standard practice, and the ceremony proceeded without mishap aboard a launch.

Galena Baseball Club closes season with surplus of 88.21

The Galena baseball association of 1905 ends its season with a neat surplus of 88 dollars and 21 cents after a Friday meeting. The treasurer's report was accepted and a full financial statement will be published for members. Galena won the last game over Pleinover with strong pitching by Pierce and solid hitting by Barnett Tropf and McIntosh.

The Gentlemen Refuse To Serve In Mine Subscriptions

Mayor Scheerer and Councilman Allen are too busy to solicit subscriptions for the new mine development. Mc Casserly of the second ward will also be unable to participate. J G Wonderly and A L Calkins replace them and have secured several subscriptions. Eight hundred dollars was pledged in this ward this morning by a two-horse canvass.
