Boy Burned by Powder Explosion Dies in Rockford
Ray mond Jackson, 13, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Jackson, sustained severe skin loss from his breast to ankles after an explosion at a quarry. He ran to his home begging for a doctor. he died Monday morning from shock. He and an older playmate gathered blasting powder, then ignited it at two quarries, leading to his fatal injury. Local physician Dr Saeger treated him within an hour of the accident.
