The Wicklow mine shaft is deepening to reach the lower ore along with the Gritty Six and Raisbeck range. Gritty Six mill is 100 tons with $35,000 machinery plus $10,000 cabinet. After months of debate the Galena city council adopted the Carnegie library resolution. The Mineral Point Camp ore market lists prices for Lead, Jack ton, and Drybone among others for Mar 5 and 6.
John McGuire, a Green Bay company miner at the Grodkins farm shaft, was struck under the eye by a falling stone while a bucket was raised after being overfilled. He received medical care and is not expected to suffer serious harm. This marks his second accident within a year, the prior one involving a crank on a windlass. P Smith of Baraboo, an expert drill man, has been engaged by Anderson and Keel to supervise five drills at work.
Engineering and Mining Journal reports lead and zinc shipments for the Illinois Wisconsin district for the week ending March 3 1906. Ongoing lead road operations and an incipient teamsters strike at Shullsburg disrupted shipments considerably during the past week.
O C Kracker Music Co advertises heavy piano sales with prices cut in half to vacate its current shop space by March 15. Each instrument fully guaranteed and must go, with calls invited to inspect and buy promptly. Mining leases for sale in Mineral Point offer low prices on lead and jack prospects. Homan and Ellanorr listed as contacts. Live stock market notes from Chicago show cattle receipts at 2,000 and hogs at 3,000 with early declines.
The Central Presbyterian of Richmond Virginia reports the largest church and congregation connected with their General Assembly are not in America but on the Congo River. Membership of the two Congo churches exceeds 2,000 with 1,000 or more in attendance per service. An African native visitor commented that Americans do not attend church.
Sheriff Whitmore joined James Tressilian in Pontiac Tuesday to pursue the 17 year old offender from Coatsworth's store theft. Two Pontiac reform school inmates attacked a guard during a Sunday escape bid, stealing a revolver, but were repelled after a fierce clash. the guard was knocked unconscious and the injured man remained in grave condition.

Menominee gains a new auctioneer. Hupman sale drew large crowd, all sold well. Dunlavy Bros sold 40 fine shouts to East Dubuque buyers Tuesday.
