An early Wednesday accident at the Perry Staver farm near Winslow maimed the little son of Mr Staver, severing his lower limbs. The 28 month old boy, hidden in the grass, was struck by the mower blade. Doctors Burrell and Willis arrived within minutes, neighbors assisted, and the family, including Mrs Staver formerly Miss Nellie Howe of Freeport, faced the tragedy with community sympathy.

A large barn on a Sinsinawa Land farm two miles east of East Dubuque was consumed by fire on Wednesday afternoon.
