State Senator J C McKenzie of Elizabeth was in the city on legal business. Attorney W S Eaton of Stockton had legal business at the county seat. Mrs Cyrus Avery of Aurora is visiting Galena. W M Hetherington and W T Jennings of Platteville registered at the Grant Hotel. Charles E Glessner of Chicago nephew of A W Glessner is visiting. Edward Chamberlin returned to Chicago after visiting his sister. Leslie Roberts visited from Wichita Kansas. Miss Myra Robinson returned to Chicago after visiting J I Dawson. John McHugh of Standard Cigar Factory returned from Chicago. Fred Avery made a business trip to Hazel Green. W F Strasser of Scrabble Creek Mine spent Sunday in Galena. F M McEnery of Moline spent Sunday in Galena. McEnery formerly managed Central Union Telephone in Galena now in Moline. W S Cleveland of Joplin Seperating Company arrived from Joplin and left for New York City to visit his ill sister. M E Daniels arrived Saturday. Mrs Daniels has been with her parents and will depart Wednesday for Ottawa Illinois.
The First Presbyterian Church held high order services with the quarterly Lord supper, three new members received, and A L Barracker ordained as ruling elder. A stereoptical Life of Christ sermon by Rev Dr Crissman drew a large audience, with 125 Sabbath school members and nearly 50 in Junior Endeavor.

Tony Stephan a captain of last year's baseball team was injured Saturday evening alighting from the Omaha Limited at Scales Mound. Employed by the Pennsylvania railroad in Loganport Indiana he was returning home for a visit. The train did not stop at Scales Mound and he fell from it while it was in motion sustaining a severe facial gash requiring several stitches. The injury is not serious but will affect his appearance for a time.
