Mrs Adelaide DeMerit born January 31 1847 married 1867 to George DeMerit died September 2 1919 at her daughter Mrs Jessie Scott's home in East Elm Street aged 72 years 7 months and 21 days A Baptist church member and 32 year public school teacher in Wauseon she leaves a daughter a brother three nieces and many friends Funeral at her daughter's home conducted by Rev B G Bowman.

Knight Howard Nuptials Reflect 1919 Home Wedding
The Knight and Howard families hosted the Sept 9 1919 marriage of Alice Knight to Ralph Howard at the Knight home. Mrs Knight and Miss Meeker sang I Love You Truly before the Lohengrin wedding march as Rev Wiltsie joined them in marriage before close relatives. The bride wore white crepe de chine and satin with bridal roses and the couple left for a life together.

Pioneer Gone Joseph Mattison dies after fifty-two years in Wauseon
Joseph Mattison longtime resident and merchant of Wauseon passed away at 79 years, after fifty-two years in the town and thirty years in business. Born 1840 in Shiloh Ohio, he served as a Union lieutenant, married Sarah Frazier in 1872, and left four children and many relatives. A funeral was held in Wauseon Cemetery after a family gathering. Revival meetings continue at Leggett Street Tent with open attendance. A. L. Stites of Chesterfield won the county fair nail guessing contest with 3651. A Tuesday Club Tea is planned at Mrs. Jay Burr’s home September 16.
