Mr. Sam Kilokhea felled the ancient pie rotten tree in front of his Beech Street residence. The old landmark, dating back decades, bent under heavy limbs, with rings indicating age. The event touches neighbors including Mrs. Vollmer and children as the Maccabess group plans its monthly social and ball.

Republican Rally Marks Constitution Anniversary in Wauseon

The Republican party in Warson plans a public rally at the Court House in Wauseon to celebrate the Constitution’s anniversary. The program includes music and speeches by out of town leaders, with Mr. Madden of Chicago among the speakers, free to all residents Friday evening September 17.

At the council meeting last Monday evening residents asked for completion of Commercial street sanitary sewer plans. New York Candy Kitchen asked permission to place a sidewalk sign on North Fulton street. Ohio Gas and Coke urged moving the gas rate ordinance. Various sidewalk, drainage, and paving requests were discussed or referred, along with grants to purchase land parcels and timing for street paving in front of the cemetery.

Tire Stolen Near Huffman Haines Shop. Goodrich Rim Missing

Last Friday a car owned by C. H. Leist had a spare Goodrich tire and rim stolen from its left end while parked on Folten Street during a Blen Club meeting. The same week, Miss Edna Leist’s Toledo apartment was entered and about $300 worth of clothing taken, leaving her with little attire. The Wauseon Boy Scout Band, led by C. J. Ives, performed at the County Home in Ottokee for twenty eight inmates, drawing praise from the Superintendent and Matron for the concert and the lasting pleasure given.

Adrian Defeats Wauseon In Stormy Legion Baseball Doubleheader

A cloudy day spoiled the first of a big doubleheader between Adrian and Wauseon. Adrian scored three runs late while Wauseon failed to capitalize in the opener, and the weather ended the day with Adrian ahead 3 to 0. Umpire Al Hawley handled the Monday game to the park’s satisfaction, urging Wauseon to supply a reliable umpire next time.

Minnelli Brothers Show Delivers High Class Vaudeville Act
