Springfield Sunday Union reports Prof Earnest D. Waid and his brother Benson from Fulton County Ohio achieved a high potato yield at Amherst Agricultural College. Earnest serves as assistant director of extensions and bought a 33 acre farm at Amity Street planting Green Mountain potatoes yielding 403 bushels per acre. The pair gained praise for dairying and market gardening as the seed potatoes are in strong demand. the article highlights practical extension work.
District assessor Dr G B Tuthill was appointed last week to fill the new office created by the Warnes Law in Fulton county. He is a long time Wauseon resident and dentist who has served on the Board of Education and the Board of Deputy State Supervisors of Elections. His appointment is supported across parties and is expected to implement a new tax valuation system.
