War Relief Fund Drives Red Cross Support In War Effort

The Red Cross launches a nationwide war relief fund detailing use of donations for medical centers in France, care for wounded soldiers and refugees, supply shipments to Paris and branch warehouses, and support for homeless children. A rummage sale is planned for November 19 to aid fundraising efforts as volunteers, including Boy Scouts, canvass communities.

A Lutheran church confirmation class, a Toledo trip for Sunday school teachers, and a future convention plan are noted.

Boosters Club November Meeting Attracted Small Attendance

Wauseon Roosters' Boosters Club met at T and L hall last Monday evening with low turnout as many members were at the Wauseon Poultry and Pet Stock association session. Toledo Commerce club offered space for Fulton county product exhibits at Toledo Farmers Exposition and will involve local lenders and Grange stations. County Agent prospects discussed with Mr Hervey noting strong county interest and farm sentiment toward organizing a County Agricultural Improvement association. The club adjourned to meet on the second Monday in December.

New War Risk Insurance Act Expands Soldier Family Benefits

Davis B. Johnson notes the Act of Congress amending the War Risk Insurance program to include allowances and family benefits from pay of all U S enlisted and officers in the Army and Navy.
